Relocation Tips
When you get the call from your employer that you will be relocated, it may take a little while for the shock to settle in. Your company will give you a relocation package listing two or three realtors for you to use as listing agents. What most seller don't realize, is that in most cases, they can choose their own realtor as their listing agent with permission from their company. This gives the seller more confidence and trust because they typically have known the person for a longer period and will more then likely give them better service.
Don't be shy when you get the relocation package. Ask your company up front if you can use your own agent. You will be much happier having a person you know handle your home rather then someone appointed to sell your home. In addition, get information on the agents that specialize the area that you are moving too. Picking a good agent is like picking a good stock broker. It can mean substantial savings in the long run.
